Obituary of Carol R. Ranton

Funeral services for Carol R. Ranton, age 51, of Olla, will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Pinehill Baptist Church in Olla with Bro. Ed Smith officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the church. Interment will follow at Urania Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Carol was born August 13, 1963 to the union of Joe and Lavern Roshto in Urania and she passed from this life on July 12, 2015 at her residence in Olla following a lengthy illness. Carol was a very devoted mother and wife. She was a former secretary at State Farm in Olla. Her hobbies included collecting Coke products and Hallmark ornaments. She loved to cook. She was a huge Nascar racing fan and she loved to go on family vacations. She was preceded in death by her father: Joe Roshto. Survivors include her husband of 33 years: Terry Ranton of Olla; two sons: Cody Ranton and fiance Jessica Bertrand of Olla; Zach Ranton of Olla; daughter: Cayla Dampier and husband Mack of West Monroe; mother: Lavern Roshto of Urania; three brothers: Brian Roshto and wife Tracey; Warren Roshto; Bruce Roshto and wife Dana; two sisters: Cheryl Newsom and husband Darrell; Susie Dunn and husband Mike; many special friends and LHS Class of 1981. Pallbearers will be Rafferd Lott, Cass Ranton, Jon Nethery, Jeffrey Chisolm, Daylan Andrews, and Andrew Strong. Honorary Pallbearers will be Marathon Oil Company, Ewing Bank Crew, and Gary Duplissey.
