Obituary: Elmer L. Wilson
Services for Elmer LaVelle Wilson, age 68 of Urania will be held at 1PM Wednesday, February 11,2009 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla with Rev. Denver McBroom and Rev. Lamar Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in the Hawthorne Cemetery at Little Creek, La. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4pm until 9 pm at Riser Funeral Home in Olla. Mr. Wilson was born on June 5,1940 to the union of James Lunsford Wilson and Lena Mae Stapleton Wilson at Little Creek and died suddenly on Friday February 6,2009 from injuries received in an automobile accident. He was preceded in death by his father and was a member of the Beech Creek Baptist Church. In his earlier years with his outgoing personality he came to be known as "The Country Cousin" in the country music genre on numerous radio stations including KPAL in Pineville and KBCL in Winnfield and with numerous other radio stations throughout the north central Louisiana area. Survivors include his wife: Niecie Wilson of Urania, his mother: Mrs. Lena Wilson of Georgetown, his son: Kevin Wilson of Georgetown, his daughter: Lisa Spaulding of Ward, AR, his grandchildren: Amanda Williams, Dustin Lincecum, Daniel Brunson, and Daryl Brunson (Spaulding). Pallbearers include: Jerry Winbery, Jason Madere, Gary Wilson, Kevin Wilson, Daniel Brunson, Dustin Lincecum, Darrell Gorham, and James Stapleton.
