Obituary of Evelyn Gunn

Funeral services for Evelyn Ruth Gunn age 88 of Urania will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday August 19, 2015 from the Olla chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Rev. Bo Prather officiating. Interment will follow in the Harris Chapel Cemetery at Olla. Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 18, 2015 at the funeral home in Olla from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Evelyn Ruth Gunn was born on August 16, 1927 at Kelly, LA to the union of her parents, Ernest Miller Gunn and Celeta Martin Gunn. She passed from this life on Sunday August 16, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Gunn was a member of the Urania First Baptist Church and was a bookkeeper by trade and a favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Odis Gunn and her sister Ernestine Compton. Survivors include her sister Kathy Franklin and husband Gene of Urania, her special niece Trisha Hudson and husband Thurman, and a host of other nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Gunn, Keith Gunn, Jimmy Compton, Daryl Freyou, Jay Banes, and Kevin Daughtry. Honorary pallbearers include Jamie Compton, Sean Freyou, Gene Franklin, Thurman Hudson, Jeffery Hudson and Zayne Phillips.
