Obituary of Glynn Benson

Funeral services for Glynn Melvin Benson, age 67 of Clarks will be held 2:00 PM Saturday August 29, 2015 from the sanctuary of Christians Sharing Christ Church in Clarks with Rev. Larry Adkins and Rev. Jack McKeithen officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 11:00AM until time of service. Burial will follow in the Old Bethel Cemetery with services under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Glynn Melvin Benson was born on October 11, 1947 at Old Bethel to the union of his parents Hines Vander "Bink" Benson and Leatrice Reitzell Benson and he passed from this life on Thursday August 28, 2015 at his residence following a brief illness. Glynn was a United States Army Veteran having served in Vietnam. He was a member of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife Kayleen Hillestad Benson, by his parents, and by his mother-in-law: Dorothy Hillestad. Survivors include: his son: Eric Vander Benson and wife Crystal of Clarks, his daughter: Monica Stuart and husband Jamie of Columbia; five grandchildren: Dallas Stuart, Eric Dewayne Benson, Reece Stuart, Lynzee Benson, and Aydyn Stuart. Pallbearers include Eric Benson, Duane Reitzell, Robert Pearson, Billy Everett, Joe Thompson, Bryan Girod, Johnny Edgar, Thomas Benson, Eric Dewayne Benson, and Reece Stuart. Honorary pallbearers include J.R. Carnahan, Shelby Cruse, Bob Purvis, Kevin Conner, Aydyn Stuart, Dallas Stuart and Lynzee Benson. In lieu of flowers any planned memorials may be made to the Christians Sharing Christ Church Building Fund or any of the Caldwell Parish Volunteer Fire Departments.
