Obituary of Orlin Taylor

Funeral Services for Orlin Lionel Taylor, age 73, of Sikes, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 4, 2015 at the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, LA with Bro. Laverl Shell and Bro. Wallace Ingles officiating. Interment will follow at Hebron Cemetery, Sikes. Visitation will be Thursday, September 3 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Taylor was born January 25, 1942 to the union of Otis and Velia Chandler Taylor in Winnfield, LA and he passed from this life September 2, 2015 at his home in Sikes. He served his country in the Navy. He worked as the Assistant Warden at Caldwell Correctional Center. Orlin enjoyed hunting and fishing but loved spending time with his family. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Etoile Smith. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lillian Martin Taylor of Sikes; two daughters: Monica Pauley and husband, Terry and Paula Shell and husband, Lowell; a step-sister, Carolyn Brooks; grandchildren: Brad Parker, Mark Townsend, Matt Townsend, and Kaylee White; great-grandchildren: Tysan Parker, Lily Parker and another, TK White, on the way. He will be greatly missed by his family and a host of good friends. Pallbearers will be Brad Parker, Mark Townsend, Matt Townsend, Lane White, Jr., Tysan Parker, Craig Black, Mark Black and Jerry Don Walker.
