Obituary of Walter Caraway
Funeral services for Walter Douglas Caraway, age 65 of Columbia, will be held at 10 AM Saturday, September 19, 2015 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Crandall officiating. Interment will follow at Columbia Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, September 18, 2015 at Riser Funeral Home from 5 PM to 8 PM.
Mr. Caraway was born on June 22, 1950 in Olla, LA to the union of Walter Wilmer and Ava Franklin Caraway and passed from this life on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at his residence. Walter worked and retired as a millwright. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching SEC football, especially LSU.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Alice Caraway and brother, Wayland Caraway.
Those left to cherish his memory are his two sons: Charles L. Caraway and wife, Ann of Kelly and Sandy D. Caraway of Ruston; brother, Louis Caraway and wife, Dinah of Grayson; sister, Joyce Kurtz and husband, Jeff of Alexandria, IN; two grandchildren: Cris Caraway and Harley Caraway; sisters-in-law: Barbara Page Stamper and Patricia Page Wyant and husband, Ron; brother-in-law, Charles "Buddy" Page and wife, Carolyn and his classmates from Caldwell Parish High Class of 1968.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Darden, Mike Freeman, Eugene Dunn, Alan Leffel, Jr., George Duncan and Ron Wyant. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. and Mrs. Jackie Barrett, Gerald Wall, C.H. Boyd, Gary Watts, employees of LP Lumber Co and Six C Fabrication.
