Obituary of James "Buddy" Whitstine

Graveside services for James "Buddy" Whitstine, age 65 of Columbia, will be held at 11 AM Friday, September 25, 2015 at Fellowship Cemetery, west of Columbia, with Bro. Allen Brown and Ned Ryan officiating. Visitation will be Friday, September 25, 2015 at Riser Funeral Home from 9 AM until procession leaves at 10:30 AM. Mr. Whitstine was born on July 30, 1950 in Columbia, LA to the union of his parents, Virgil Edward and Cecile McLain Whitstine and passed from this life on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at his residence. He worked and retired from the LA State Agriculture & Forestry Columbia Nursery. He enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mark Whitstine. Those left to cherish his memory are his four sisters: Yvonne McCarty of West Monroe, Georgia Couvillion of Grayson, Diane Purdy and husband, Gerald of West Monroe and Donna Dickey and husband, Don of Columbia; special nieces: Vicky Coates and Angela Smith; neighbor and friend, Ned Ryan and his dog, "Missy." Pallbearers will be Chad Ryan, Casey Ryan, Colton Ryan, Troy Coates, Brandon Coates, and Zach Brown. Any planned memorials may be made to the Saving Paws of Caldwell, PO Box 1623, Columbia, LA 71418.
