Obituary of Charles Howell

Funeral services for Charles Robert Howell, 67 of Olla will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday October 13, 2015 from the sanctuary of Aimwell Pentecostal Church . Visitation will be at the church on Monday October 12, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm. Burial will follow in the Jena City Cemetery under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla. Charles Robert Howell was born on February 7, 1945 at Clarks, LA to the union of his parents Archie J. Howell and Carrie Baker Howell and he passed from this life on Saturday October 10, 2015 at the LaSalle Nursing Center in Jena following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife Mavis Min Young Howell. He was employed as a chief engineer with different tow boat company's through the years. Left to cherish his memory: two sons: Kevin Howell(Melanie) of Jena and Kenneth Robert Howell who resides with Davis and Dewanna Young of Urania; two brothers: J.A. Howell of Channelview, Texas and Riley Howell of Ruston; two sisters: Carroll Estelle Discotell of Calhoun, LA and Fannie Shipp of Hebert; two grandchildren: Mindee Howell and Elijah Howell; and a host of other family members and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Kim Poole, Shawn Deville, Tommy Meyers, Daylin Young, Gage Taylor, and J. F. Westbrooks, JR. Honorary pallbearers include his brothers-in-laws: Spencer young, Kenny Young, Davis Young, J. A. Howell, Jason Barrett, Preacher Westbrooks, J.F. Westbrooks, Sr. and David Banes.
