Obituary of Israel Clark
Funeral services for Mr. Israel Wilson Clark age 71 of Hebert, La. will be held 2PM Tuesday April 7, 2009 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Brooks officiating. Interment will follow at the Hebert Cemetery. Visitation for Monday will be from 4PM to 9PM at the funeral home in Columbia. Israel Wilson Clark was born on Oct. 4, 1937 at Hebert, La. to the union of his parents Sherman Harris Clark and Jewel Lawson Clark. He was preceded in death by his father, his wife Merlene Clark, and his son-in-law Robert Henry Clay. Mr. Clark was a lifelong resident of Caldwell Parish and was a ironworker, farmer and for many years operated Clark Concrete Works. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all who knew and respected him. Survivors include: His mother: Mrs. Jewel Clark, of Hebert. Two sons: Dale Clark and wife Annette, and Harris Clark and wife Karen; all of Columbia. Two Daughters: Karen Jane Clay of Columbia, and Kay Megonigal and husband Earl of Yallville, Ar. Two sisters:Shermie Clark and Janiece Clark Poole both of Columbia. His grandsons: Kenny Grant,Sr.; Steven Clark, Lee Boyett and wife Amanda, and Adam Clark. His grand-daughters: Vashti Grant and fiancée Chris Hood, Kristy Clark and fiancée Kyle Prince, and Kelly Clark. Great grandchildren: Britney Grant, Christopher Grant, and Kenny Grant,Jr. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Pallbearers include: Kyle Prince, Chris Hood, Dale Clark, Dale Hendrix, Glenn Poole, Dennis Mullenix, Brian hall, and Jonathan Housley. Honorary pallbearers include Jack Harvey and Louis Mullenix.
