Obituary of Jerry Womack

Funeral services for Jerry Duchesne Womack, age 75, of Hebert, will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 17, 2015 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Keith Fife and Bro. Floyd Duchesne officiating. Interment will follow at Hebert Cemetery, Hebert, Louisiana. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Jerry was born October 11, 1940 to the union of Alfred and Bettie Mae Bowden Duchesne. She passed from this life on December 15, 2015 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald Ray Womack; two brothers: Samuel Alfred and Ray Duchesne; and brother-in-law, Willie Earl Fife. She is survived by three sons: Donald Wayne Womack and his wife, Rhetta of Hebert, Kenneth Elvin Womack of Hebert, Bruce Alan Womack of Hebert; two brothers: Johnny Duchesne of Mangham and Vernon Duchesne and his wife, Barbara of Hebert; two sisters: Bettie Jo Fife of Norman, OK and Nancy Taylor and her husband, Laverl of LaPorte, TX; five grandchildren: Kendra Womack Halsell, Amy Womack Hudson, Edward Womack, Jennifer Womack Talley, and Aydrienne Womack; 9 great-grandchildren; special friend of many years: Roy McMullen. Jerry loved her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed gardening, which was evident when you saw all the beautiful flowers she grew in her yard. She never missed an opportunity to go to the Council on Aging and play dominoes with her many friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her but especially by her beloved cat, Tiger. Pallbearers will be Terry Taylor, Randy Duchesne, Laverl Taylor, Kevin Fife, Sambo Duchesne, and Edward Womack.
