Obituary of Carolyn Wyant

Funeral services for Carolyn Black Wyant, age 72 of Grayson, will be held at 10 AM Thursday, March 31, 2016 from the sanctuary of Old Hebron Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby White and Bro. Boyd Tannehill officiating. Interment will follow at Hebron Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Hebron Baptist Church from 4 PM until service time on Thursday. Mrs. Wyant was born on November 10, 1943 in Caldwell Parish to the union of her parents; George Walter Nugent and Elise Meredith Nugent and passed from this life on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Citizens Medical Center, Columbia. Carolyn was a homemaker and member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She loved to listen to music especially the oldies with her favorites of Fats Domino and Jerry Lee Lewis. She is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands: Jimmy Black and Maloy Wyant; two brothers: Fred Nugent and G.W. Nugent; two sisters: Marie Nugent and Beatrice "Bug" Nugent. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Steven Black and wife, April of Columbia; daughter, Tina Black and companion, Craig Hatten of Columbia; sister, Ethel Malone and husband, Marvin of Ball; grandchildren: Chris Wyant (Sonni), Dustin Wyant (Brittney), Sarah Graham (Johnathon), Michael Black, Macie Black, Mathew Black and Aliya Smith; great-grandchildren: Lane Wyant, Kayleigh Beckley, Hayden Wyant, Aubree Wyant, Emoree Graham; thought of as a son; Colin Breaux; bestfriends: Sheila Coates, Sandra Breaux and Effie Crowley; cousins thought of as sisters: Dorothy Greer and Sharon Burnham and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Colin Breaux, Dustin Wyant, Kiel Guillory, Mark Black, Michael Black and Scott Saterfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnathon Graham, Greg Black, Bo Buckley, Ray Buckley and Paul Girod.
