Obituary of Ponzella Stapleton

Funeral services for Ponzella Stapleton, age 59, of Grayson, will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Eddie Riley officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson. Ponzella was born December 24, 1956 to the union of Rufus Pearl and Christine Adams in Hazard, Kentucky and she passed from this life on April 19, 2016 at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport. She was a member of Banks Springs Baptist Church in Columbia. She worked at Spotted Dog Sporting Goods in Columbia for many years. She loved working in her flower bed and she loved to cook. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 40 years: James Stapleton; two sons: David Stapleton of Vidalia; Jimmy Stapleton and his wife Dianna of Grayson; daughter: Robyn Welch and her husband Josh of Iowa, LA; two brothers: Hassell Craft and Pearl Adams; three sisters: Ruby Calvert, Jacqui Chatham Wetherbee, and Shirley Adams; daughter-in-law: Rona; grandchildren: Hailey Stapleton, Hope Stapleton, Dylan Stapleton, Ryan Stapleton, Kelsey Stapleton, Blake Perot, Morgan Perot, Heaven Welch, Dustin Taylor, and Harley Taylor; extended family: Bob and Lori Wallace and the Spotted Dog gang. Pallbearers will be: Chad Wallace, Kyle Wallace, Tyrel Hinton, Alex Basco, John Bradley, Joseph Duckett, Darrin Waters, and Jim McKeithen. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Zach Walker, Drew Lovelady, Anthony Weeks, and Daniel Bonner.
