Obituary of Donald "Duck" Ramsey

Funeral services for Donald "Duck" Wayne Ramsey, age 66 of Walker, LA, will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home, Columbia, LA with Bro. Carl Nugent officiating. Interment will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery, Clarks, LA. Visitation will be Monday, May 2, 2016 at Riser Funeral Home, Columbia, from 5 PM to 9 PM then again Tuesday from 10 AM until time of services. Duck was born on May 27, 1949 in Monroe, LA and passed from this life on Friday, April 29, 2016 at his residence. He worked and retired after many years as a Sergeant at Angola State Penitentiary and drove an 18 wheeler for 25 years. He enjoyed fresh water fishing and hunting. He is preceded in death by his parents: Paul and Virginia Sanders; sister, Patricia Edwards and granddaughter, Ali Meredith. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Scott Meredith of St. Francisville; daughter, Misty Roberts and husband, Clint of Rayville; brother, Danny Sanders of Nacogdoches, TX; grandchildren: Kristian, Taylor, Alyssa, Skylar, Andi, Aaryon and one on the way; seven great-grandchildren and two special nieces: Kathy Scott and her husband, Mike and Pam Joiner and her husband, Clint. Pallbearers will be Rance Robertson, Kevin Fife, Clint Joiner, Mike Scott and Keith Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Meredith and Danny Sanders.
