Obituary of Alice Carson Strickland

Funeral services for Alice Carson Strickland age 78 of Hebert will be held 2:00 PM Sunday October 9, 2016 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Lane McClanahan and Rev. Brian Rankin officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery at Hebert. Visitation will be on Saturday October 8, 2016 at the funeral home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Alice Carson Strickland was born on January 3, 1938 at LaCrosse, Wisconsin to her beloved parents John Carlisle Carson and Marjorie Alice Rapp Carson and she passed from this life on Friday October 7, 2016 at the Christus St. Francis Cabrini Medical Center in Alexandria following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband Quinton Uriah Strickland, and her sisters: Diane Solberg and Barbara Greethurst. Alice had been actively involved with the "Wish I Could Foundation" which helps grant wishes to terminally ill children. If Alice could help someone in need it was a joy for her to help. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and also friend. She will be forever missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish a lifetime of memories, her two sons: Jimmy and John Strickland both of Hebert and her grandson who meant so very much to her, Judson Strickland and a host of other family members.
