We are so sorry for the loss of Aunt Jan. She was lovely inside and out. She was always kind and gracious to Kin, Hunter, Emily, and me. It's sad that someone as good as she was had to leave so soon.

Obituary of Jan Marie Jackson
Graveside services for Jan Marie Jackson, age 65, of Vidor, TX, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Columbia Hill Cemetery with Brother Dennis Evans officiating.
Born June 14, 1952, to the union of Jack and Alberta Matlock in Port Arthur, Texas Jan passed from this life on September 2, 2017, at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Jan was a very kind and gentle soul; she had a loving and generous heart and was always giving to others. She loved life, and never met a stranger. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt.
Her attitude helped to inspire others with their own personal journey with cancer. She was the poster child for breast cancer awareness and was proud to represent the breast cancer cause by having her picture displayed on a billboard in Beaumont, TX.
Jan was informed, loved world events and world news. For 37 years she loved and cared for animals as a Veterinary Technician at McGowan Veterinary Hospital in Vidor, Texas along colleagues she was fortunate enough to call cherished friends.
She is survived by her husband: Ray Jackson of Vidor, TX; son: Ray Henry Jackson of Vidor, TX; daughter: Cassandra Jackson of Washington, DC; sister: Sandra Esch of Wilmington, Delaware; grandson: Gunner Ray Jackson; brother and sister-in-law: Kenneth and Norva Lee Jackson of Grayson, LA.
Pallbearers will be the Hackers: Ed Malcomb, Paul Douglas, Buddy Clark, Ken Jackson, Craig Roark, and Ladd Jackson.
Beyond all else, Jan was loved, and she too loved deeply.

Mother, I love you and I will always grieve for what might have been. There was so much time lost – and no chance to ever mend hurt feelings or misunderstandings. There are so many words left unsaid, but I now know you understand my reasons for the decisions I have made over all these years to stay distant. You now know my heart, my pain, my accomplishments, and soul. I mourn for the time you will miss with Gunner. The time I spent with Grandma and Grandmother was the most cherished time. I know he was your Sunshine! Until we meet again – watch over Daddy, Hank and Gunner. I love you, Cassandra.
