Obituary of Esther Lee Johnson McGuire

Funeral services for Esther Lee Johnson McGuire will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday September 23, 2017 from the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Columbia with Bro. Charles McGuire, Rev. Jerry McGuire and Rev. Bobby McGuire officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Bethel Cemetery at Clarks under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 10:30 AM until time of service.

Ms. McGuire was born April 8, 1928 in Columbia to the union of her parents, John Henry and Katie Bratton Johnson and she passed from this life on September 21, 2017 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe following an extended illness. She was a homemaker and a babysitter. She enjoyed reading her bible, crocheting, word search puzzles, and baking. Ms. McGuire was a member of Clarks United Pentecostal Church. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends who all loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank McGuire; her father, John Henry Johnson; her mother, Katie Bratton Johnson and three brothers.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Charles McGuire and wife, Pam; her son, Jerry McGuire and wife, Carol; her son, Bobby McGuire and wife, Shirley; her daughter, Brenda McDaniel and husband, Johnny; and her brother, Billy Ray Johnson. She also left behind nine grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews and all the kids she dearly loved keeping.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons: Joey McGuire, Jonathan McDaniel, Chad McGuire, Robert Pearson, Heath Williams and Garrett Madden. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be her nephew, Wayne Johnson.
