My sincerest condolences to Donnie's family. I remember Donnie as being so nice and helpful. When I was 16, I was driving my grandfathers car and had a blow out on the front. I lost control and ended up in a ditch. Donnie came along got me out of the ditch, then loaned me his spare, because on top of everything else my spare was flat.

Dumplin was one of the hardest exterior and softest heart men I’ve ever met. Never let you slack and always raised you up in his own way. He quickly became one of my favorites people in my life. I’ve told so many about the “Night Watchman” and his hilarious stories and gruff guidance. I am honored to have met him and known him. I learned quickly how to get through his tough exterior: ask about his family and his grandkids. He softened immediately and it was usually the only time he smiled because being tough was his job but his family broke through that guise!
