Obituary of Donnie Ray Mills
Funeral services for Donnie Ray Mills, age 68 of Grayson, LA will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, April16, 2019 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home, Columbia with Bro. Rod Shipp and Bro. Eddie Riley officiating. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery, Grayson. The family will receive visitors from 5 PM until 8 PM Monday, April 15, 2019 at the funeral home.
Donnie Ray Mills was born April 2, 1951 in Columbia, LA to the union of his parents, Willie J. Mills and Edna Eugenia Batson Mills and he passed from this life at his home on April 13, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Donnie worked in the oilfield his entire life and was a drilling consultant when he retired. He enjoyed hunting but he especially loved squirrel hunting. His heart belonged to his grandbabies and he loved the time he spent with them. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Wallace Mills.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Theresa Rucker Mills of the Old Bethel community; his daughter, Molly Mills Wyant (Abe) of Bismark, AR; sons: Roy Lee "Beau" Mills (Diana Monaghan) of Odessa, TX and Jeffery Ray Mills of Odessa, TX; special "daughter," Trena Honeycutt of Grayson; brother, William Mills (Donna) of Columbia; sisters: Carolyn Caldwell of West Monroe, Carrie Ann Roberts (Jody) of Columbia, Dinah Caraway (Donnie) of Grayson and Debbie Walters (Johnny) of Oak Grove; grandchildren: Jesse James Hendrix (Holly), Gregory Wyant (Samantha), Augustus "Gus" Mills (Abby) and Brooke Scribber (Oscar); great-grandchildren: Ayden Wyant, Colter Scribber, Collin Wyant and Emmalyn Mills; special friends: Dale Hendrix, Gunny Hendrix, Marvin Howington, Bill Burt, Bill Von, Donnie Williams and Mike Rucker. The family wishes to thank Dr. Mark Operario and his nurses and staff for the special friendship and wonderful care they gave to Donnie throughout his illness.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Mills, Ken Mills, John Mills, Jerry Mills, Charlie Caldwell and Joey Roberts. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Rowland, Carl Cornwell, Luke Mills, Gunny Hendrix and Dale Hendrix.
