Obituary of James Willie Flores, Sr

Funeral services for James Willie Flores Sr., age 66 of Columbia will be held 1:00 PM Friday, August 16, 2019 from the sanctuary of Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Kelly Wayne Clark officiating. Jimmy Ray Busby will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery west of Columbia under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at the church from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

James Willie Flores was born on April 23, 1953 in Monroe, Louisiana to the union of his parents, William J. “Son” Flores and and Doris L. “Sadie” Flores and passed from this life on August 13, 2019 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia following a brief illness.

James Willie was a retired employee of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development with thirty-three years of service. Willie loved to hunt and fish, run dogs and catch hogs and he loved to be on his tractor. He was a once in a lifetime man and he never met a stranger. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. To know Willie was to love him. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Linda “Sook” Carr and by a nephew, Bryan Carr.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lori “Pickle” Flores of Columbia; three sons: James Willie "Bubba" Flores, Jr. (fiancee', Renee Jodzio), Eric Joshua Flores (Monica) and Caleb Augustus Flores all of Columbia; two brothers: Gary Flores (Jane) and Pete Flores (Cheryl); four sisters: Sue Flores Jordan, Carolyn Johnson (Benny), Kay Jackson (Dewayne) and Tammy Kirby (Roger); his beloved grandchildren: Tanner Bryan Flores, Tanner James Jodzio-Clark and Jaxon Chase Flores, Kenliegh Perot, Kaylee Perot and Maylee Hendricks and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be James Willie "Bubba" Flores, Jr., Eric Joshua Flores, Caleb Augustus Flores, Jarrod Flores, Stephen Nolker and  Jimmy Del Young . Honorary pallbearers include Tanner Flores, Tanner Jodzio-Clark, Jaxon Flores, Logan Edwards, Shannon Flores, JerryBailey, Adam Bamburg, Greg Flores, Scott Bamburg and Ronny Hatten.
