Donna and Matt,
I was so sorry to hear about your Daddy. It's one of the hardest things in life to give your parents up. I loved your Momma and I still think of her often. Love yall.

I appreciate all of Red's years of service and dedication to the children of Caldwell Parish. I remember when we first moved to the Crossroads Community, John and Lisa rode Red's bus. He spent many years getting the children of this community safely to school.

When I think of Red May, my memories with him will always be cherished. Ed and I would stay With Red typically around hunting season. I love to cook and Red welcomed me with open arms. I’ve never met a man who made me feel so warm and welcome. I ended up taking over the kitchen. I would love to see Reds face light up when dinner was served and oh soo grateful he was and made you feel especially appreciated like you hung the moon. I loved Red as my own family. From the moment I met Red I knew he was special and he never ceased to amaze me. Red was a modest man and it didn’t take a lot to make him happy. Sitting by that wood burning stove with family, telling stories until the sun went down, now that was the life, and no one can take those memories from you. Red, Rest In Peace and I know God has a very special place for you in heaven. I love you, and you will be greatly missed.

On behalf of my late husband, Jimmy May, and myself, I am so sorry for your loss. Jimmy talked very fondly of his Uncle Red and the times they spent together in his growing up years. Time has a way of displacing family and the gulf of years seem to have widened but all of you will always hold a dear place in my heart. May God’s love and the love of family and friends comfort and bring you peace during this sad time. I’m sorry I’m not able to be here, currently, I’m in the middle of packing and moving, but know, my thoughts are with you all.

I am so sad to see that Uncle Red had passed away. I wish I could have seen him one last time before his passing. My condolences to Matt and Donna. My wife Robyn and myself will be visiting Grayson this coming Saturday and I would like to see you all of my kinfolk. Hope we can make that happen.

Donna and Matt: I am so very sorry for your loss. I loved watching the tribute to your dad. It perfectly portrayed what kind of man Red was; a man who lived for his family and his country. There will never be another like him and I know he's taking his place beside God's Throne. God Bless You.
