James “Red” Dale May

Services for James “Red” Dale May, age 80 of Grayson will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 28, 2019 in the Chapel of Riser Funeral Home, Columbia with Bro. Donald Dulaney officiating.  Interment will follow at the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Riser Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Red was born January 1, 1939 in Clarks to the union of his parents, Marie Parker and Hollie May and he passed from this life on August 26, 2019 at home surrounded by his family.  He served our country in the Army and loved his saw mill, hunting, fishing, raising and trapping hogs, farming, supervising friends and family, his grandkids and great-grand kids.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Jack May, Buster May, Pete May, Buzzy May and Mike May and his sister, Catherine Kersten.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Robert Mathew May; daughter, Donna May Knighten (Lenny); sister, Marie Tyler; grandchildren: Cody Parr (Sabra), Luke Hill (Deanna), Megan May, Logan Temple (Joe), Cody Knighten (Tiffany); great-grandchildren: Callie Baum, Levi and Kodi Belle Parr, Adam Temple, Kenzy Temple, Jasper Ferguson and Carsen Knighten.

Serving as pallbearers will be Edward Kersten, Raymond Kersten, Mark May, Jarrod Wallace, David Williams and Brent McGuffee. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Dale Gaylor, Johnny Hester, Buddy Ferrand and David Cubbit.
